The ligament commonly called the ACL in people is known as the cranial cruciate ligament, or CCL, in pets. When it is damaged, the knee may become painful and unstable, causing limping and difficulty bearing weight.
No single repair is right for every patient. The doctor will consider your pet’s size, activity level, knee anatomy and degree of instability before recommending an approach.

Hip pain can result from hip dysplasia, arthritis, joint degeneration, a fracture or another injury. Depending on the patient, surgery may preserve or reposition the developing joint, remove painful bone contact or replace the damaged joint.
The appropriate procedure depends on your pet’s age, anatomy, activity level and degree of joint damage.
Total Hip Replacement
Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy
Double or Triple Pelvic Osteotomy
Juvenile Pubic Symphysiodesis
Fractures and traumatic joint injuries can vary considerably in location, severity and stability. An orthopedic examination and X-rays help determine whether the injury can be managed without surgery or requires surgical stabilization.
Treatment may include plates, screws, pins or other stabilization methods depending on the injury.
